Privacy Policy

Overview

LogYourTrade is a trading journal and process tool for discretionary traders. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We do not sell your trading data. We use your data to provide the product, keep accounts secure, process payments, improve the app, and support optional features such as exchange sync and AI reviews.

Information We Collect

• Account information, such as your email address, display name, authentication provider details, and basic profile settings.
• Trading workflow data you enter or generate in the app, including strategies, routines, focus lists, trade logs, screenshots or image references, notes, grades, risk settings, psychology tags, error reviews, and analytics.
• Exchange connection data when you choose to connect an exchange, including encrypted API keys, encrypted API secrets where applicable, wallet addresses where applicable, exchange labels, access level, and synced trade or fill history.
• AI-related data, including prompts and structured trading summaries sent to Google Gemini when you request AI briefings, market analysis, or AI reviews. If you provide your own Gemini API key, we store it encrypted.
• Billing data needed to manage paid plans, such as Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan status, period end dates, and checkout or customer portal events. Full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by LogYourTrade.
• Usage and device data, such as pages viewed, funnel events, demo starts, onboarding steps, feature usage, cookies, local storage identifiers, browser information, and approximate technical diagnostics.

How We Use Information

• To create and authenticate your account through passwordless email links, Google OAuth, Supabase sessions, and related security workflows.
• To run the trading journal, strategy lab, daily and weekly routines, dashboards, analytics, risk controls, CSV export, demo mode, and settings you choose.
• To import or sync trades from supported exchanges such as Binance and Hyperliquid when you connect credentials or wallet details.
• To provide AI-powered features, including economic calendars, weekly outlooks, daily briefings, and weekly reviews.
• To process subscriptions, paid offers, cancellations, billing portal access, and account plan enforcement through Stripe.
• To understand product usage, debug issues, improve onboarding, measure conversion funnels, and prevent abuse.
• To contact you about account, billing, product, security, support, or service-related matters.

Cookies And Analytics

LogYourTrade uses cookies and local storage for authentication, demo access, session continuity, and analytics. The demo cookie currently lasts up to 24 hours.

We use PostHog analytics when configured. PostHog is routed through LogYourTrade paths such as /ingest and may store analytics identifiers using local storage and cookies. We keep analytics events intentionally limited and do not enable broad autocapture in the current app configuration.

Service Providers

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate LogYourTrade. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

• Supabase for authentication, sessions, and hosted Postgres infrastructure.
• Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing portal sessions, payment processing, and related webhooks.
• PostHog for product analytics when analytics is enabled.
• Google OAuth for sign-in when you choose to continue with Google.
• Google Gemini for AI features when you request AI-generated market analysis, briefings, reviews, or use your own Gemini key.
• Binance and Hyperliquid APIs when you connect exchange credentials, wallet addresses, or request trade sync/import features.
• Loops or similar email infrastructure if lifecycle, product, or support emails are enabled.
• Hosting, database, logging, and security vendors needed to run the web application.

Exchange Credentials And Security

Exchange credentials and user-provided Gemini API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC before they are stored. Exchange credential fields use independent initialization vectors.

For standard broker sync, you should connect read-only exchange credentials. Read-only credentials allow LogYourTrade to import trade history but do not allow LogYourTrade to place, modify, or cancel orders. Live trading access is invite-only and should be treated as higher risk.

No online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for using strong exchange security settings, limiting API permissions, rotating keys when needed, and removing credentials you no longer want connected.

AI Features

When you request AI features, relevant trading context may be sent to Google Gemini to generate the requested output. This can include tickers, watchlists, market context, performance summaries, errors, notes, and routine data needed to produce the response.

AI output is informational and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You should independently verify market information and never treat AI output as financial advice.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or trading data. We may share information with service providers, when you direct us to do so through an integration, to comply with law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Retention And Deletion

We keep account and trading data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain backups, and protect against abuse.

You may request deletion of your account or certain stored data by contacting us. Some records may remain for a limited period in backups, security logs, billing records, or where retention is required by law or legitimate business needs.

Your Choices

• You can choose not to connect an exchange and use manual logging instead.
• You can remove exchange credentials and user-provided Gemini keys from settings where supported.
• You can export eligible trade data through CSV export if your plan includes it.
• You can cancel paid subscriptions through the Stripe customer portal where available.
• You can block some cookies or storage through your browser, though authentication, analytics, or demo mode may stop working correctly.

Google User Data

LogYourTrade complies with Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically regarding Google user data:

• Data Accessed: LogYourTrade accesses your Google profile information (email address, name, and profile picture) when you choose to sign in using Google OAuth. If you use our AI features, LogYourTrade interacts with the Google Gemini API to process trading summaries and text prompts.

• Data Usage: We use your Google profile information solely for authentication and account creation purposes. We use the Google Gemini API solely to generate market analysis and trading summaries as requested by you in the app.

• Data Sharing: LogYourTrade does not sell or share your Google user data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Information may only be shared with trusted service providers strictly necessary to provide the service (e.g., Supabase for database hosting) or to comply with valid legal requests.

• Data Storage & Protection: All Google user data is stored securely in our hosted Postgres database (Supabase) using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Access to production databases is strictly limited to authorized personnel.

• Data Retention & Deletion: Google user data is retained only for as long as your account is active. You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting our support team. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our active databases, subject to limited retention in backups as required by law.

International Use

LogYourTrade may process and store information in countries other than where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, subject to this Privacy Policy and provider safeguards.

Children

LogYourTrade is not intended for children under 18. Trading-related products are intended for adults who can understand financial risk. Do not use LogYourTrade if you are under 18.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When we make material changes, we will update the last updated date and may provide additional notice in the app or by email.
